Equal Payment Plan (EPP) aka Budget Program
The Equal Payment Plan (EPP) or budget program is a program to allow customers to easily manage their electrical bill. You must have at least 12-months of history at your current location. In the spring of each year customers can begin the EPP. We take the 12-month total of your previous year’s bills and divide it by 12 months. This gives us the average payment amount to pay each month – no more “high” winter bills and “low” summer bills – you pay the same amount each month. Because your actual usage may vary dramatically from the prior year, your budget payment is recalculated twice per year, in the Spring and Fall.
This is a great program for customers who want a predictable bill throughout the Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. The PUD will continue to read your meter as scheduled and every Spring and Fall, your payment amounts for the next 6 months will either increase or decrease based on actual usage.
