LOW INCOME WEATHERIZATION PROGRAMEligibility Requirements

An energy audit must be performed by the District prior to the installation of weatherization measures to be eligible for rebates. The District provides energy audits at no charge to current customers.

Site built single family and multifamily homes are eligible. Manufactured homes (Built after March 1976) are also eligible.

Income Requirements

Household net earnings cannot exceed 200% of federal government poverty standard

Heating system requirements

  1. Permanently-installed electric heating system.
  • Baseboard, Wall, Ceiling resistance heat
  • Electric forced air furnace
  • Electric fired boiler
  • Heat Pump

2.  A non-electric supplementary/backup system (free standing stoves or fireplace inserts fueled by wood, oil, natural gas, or propane) accompanied by the current and verified usage history of plug-in electric space heaters.

  • If a non-electric primary heating system (forced air furnace fueled by wood, oil, natural gas, or propane) is existing in the home, the entire system must be decommissioned. All penetrations into conditioned space must be sealed, and all fuel (electric, gas, oil) connections removed and decommissioned.
